The Middle East is a region where car is king and fuel is inexpensive, typically leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.
But this year, as protests across the Middle East have actually risen the rate of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually entered sharp focus.
In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one company is taking benefit of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing rewarding too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
